The Process and FAQs
L I V E
BEFORE THE D-DAY
Prior to your event, we have a discussion about your artwork, the frame, and for example if any others apart from the main subjects of the painting get more details than others, what you would want me to paint as your backdrop and so on. We draw up a contract, 100% upfront fee. I contact your wedding planner(s) prior to the D-Day to make arrangements for the day. I like to have smooth sailing on the day so that I know what time I am allowed to arrive, where I go and so on.
A telephone converstaion or even a few as the day approaches is the best way to make sure that I know what you would like to have in your artwork. I am also glad to discuss ideas via email if you prefer. I do not need to visit the place in advance as it will look completely different on your day with furnishing decor your guest and yourselves there.
WATER MISCIBLE OILS
I chose to use water miscible oils for 3 reasons. My choice is inspired by the traditional - "old masters" artwork; it represents the modern and the new; and it represents philosophi - chaos and harmony, sweet and sore, black and white, water and oil.
DO THE COLOURS SMELL?
Water Miscible oils gives you the same experience as with traditional oils but one can easily wash brushes and tools with water. Linseed is used as a base for the water miscible oil pigments. The blend smells very weak and is not noticeable. The scent is so weak that it is not noticed within the events location.
I work with 3D thick canvases and the edges are an important and siguature part of my artworks. In the LIVE paintings, the edges are formed of your nostalgic pictures. You will need to send these pictures to me via mail, so that I can prepare the frame before the D-Day.
At least one year after the artwork is created, if you want to further frame your artwork, please contact for more details on the studios framing.
Underpainting is a painting technique where before one paints the main painting, one paints a first layer whose aim is to either be seen through under the main painting, or to act only as a reference colour for the overlying painting.
I further developed this to what I call "Backdrop" where I convert the underpainting into something abstract and made up of your colours!
The alternative option is that I choose colours at random to create the Backdrop for your event.
I arrive at your event up to 3 hours ahead. Hands-on painting time is from 4 to 8 hours. I need about 2 x 2 meters and a chair; away from the sound system, as this vibrates the canvas. I set up my easel and get to work. By the time your guests are arriving, I am painting the venue and decor. I continue to paint as the D-Day unfolds, adding the VIPs and surrounding activity as I observe it and using a few photos to help me paint details. Guests are free to speak to me all through the event, while I create your artwork. I also take photos thoughout the day for further inspiration and support for the painting process. The guests are free to talk to me during the whole event, while I create your artwork.
DOES ONE NEED TO STAND STILL?
No, one doesnt need to even think about the fact that they are being painted, at all. I paint what I see as well as use photographs as support for details.
GOAL OF MY ARTWORKS
With oil and photo transfers, my aim is to create the most optimal artwork on your day that captures the healthiness of the atmosphere of the event and that really lights up the soul when it is looked at.
WHO GETS TO BE IN THE ARTWORK?
LIVE focuses on the bride and groom and doesnt include choreography of specific guests but I capture a few guests, between 5 to 20 guests.
LIVE PLUS I ocus on the bride and groom, and this doesn't include choreography but I capture some guests , between 5 to 20 guests with few details. More details in the decor and overall scene enhancement. If you order 2 * 40cm x 50cm, these will be done in the style of the Live Package, but within two days.
LIVE DIAMOND includes choreography, with recommendation that the focus remain on the couple, parents on both sides, siblings, best man and made of honor. Depending on the composition you want, be aware that the artwork can become non harmonious if too many characters in the artwork pull focus away from the couple or centre of attention. During our conversation, together we navigate through your vision, and I help you decide how we can in the most creative way integrate the people that are most important to you, without destroying the integrity of the artwork. My opinion is that the guests are a part of the background and thus I will not want for them to distract from the focus of the artwork, the celebrants; the bride and the groom by being too prominent or detailed.
LIVE RENCOQUE, inspired by Michelle Obama, is a choreographed style based upon my combining real live personal stories with the ceiling expressions of renaissance, baroque and rococo era. It is done over 2 - 6 months depending on the composition. It is created from different scenes from the wedding, imagined scenes, includes choreography and is created with several pictures for inspiration.
DO YOU HAVE TIME TO PAINT IF WE ORDER PORTRAITS?
If many portraits are drawn, the painting would not be as finished during the event. This is compensated for with more time spent on the painting at the studio. The quality of the painting is not affected by the amount of time spent on portrait vector sketches.
IS THERE ADDITIONAL TRANSPORT AND POSTAGE COSTS?
No, not for paintings within Great Britain and Ireland. The prices include transport, postage and possible layover.
For missions outside these places, there will be an additional transport costs. Contact for a quote.
DO YOU PAINT AT OTHER EVENTS?
Yes, I am open to all suggestions. I have painted at a conference and at a museum for instance.
CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT YOUR STYLE?
My personal motto is that "I am a bursting source of inexhaustible power, light and life". It is from this point of view that I create my artworks. With strong sense of confidence, wild energi and industrious work ethic, I create striking artworks. I employ a relaxed boundary between subjects and the background, and I seek to express a perception of nature, rather than create exact representations.
WHAT HAPPENS IF WE CANCEL?

CAN YOU DESCRIBE WHAT YOU OFFER?
These artworks are for those who got married long ago, those who got married in drop in, and want to paint the scene they got married in, or paint a completely different scene; or those who would like to create artworks that tell a changing story long after the first time they leave the studio.
IN-THE-STUDIO like like live paintings is also for birthdays, engagements, anniverseries, and more. It works as a great present!
Here, your nostalgic moments are transformed to masterpieces, though in a completely different way to live painting! After we contact each other, you send your pictures that I use for the painting and the collage of the artwork. I will need at least two good quality pictures (it can be pictures taken with a phone), that is to say, pictures that where taken in good lighting. I will also need plenty nostalgic pictures for the collage. During the creation of the artwork, we maintain contact in case i need more picture for instance.
The concept that an artwork purposefully returns to the artist again and again for updating is something completely new.
All IN-THE-STUDIO INFINIT artworks come with a catalog and their former forms are archived for one of a kind giclee print!
DO YOU PAINT ONLY WEDDING PORTRAITS?
No, I paint all forms of portraits and all forms of requests in the studio, based on your ideas and wishes.
We hope that all your questions have been answered.
