18. My New-born Delivered a Message.
While Painting, My New-born Delivered A Message
In the middle of the night,
few days into delivering my baby,
I woke up at 2 a.m. to paint.
I walked out of the house,
Pitch black, in the dead of the winter,
I woke up at 2 a.m. to paint.
Armed with the baby monitor,
And the will to create something…
I woke up at 2 a.m. to paint.
Something beautiful…
Something tasteful…
Something legendary…
Though I didn’t quite know what.
Trust I had great impostor syndrome
I woke up at 2 a.m. to paint.
Baby monitor in one hand, keys the other
Opened the door to the studio, lights on
I woke up at 2 a.m. to paint.
The matrix of thoughts expanded quickly
Paint hushed giving form on my canvas
This my fellow village folk is why.
I heard my baby crying for my attention,
Echoing the sentiments being processed
Only a few minutes into that 2 a.m.
Lights off, keys turning
Baby monitor back in my hand
Only a few minutes into that 2 a.m.
The True Power of Art
Historical Witness: Art documents raw human experiences.
Cultural Mirror: It reflects societal flaws and triumphs.
Emotional Bridge: It connects completely different people instantly.
Future Catalyst: Visual ideas spark real-world change.
Moving Beyond the Commercial
While the art market can be cynical—used for investments, tax shelters, or status symbols—the act of my creation remains pure. I would like to think my perspective protects my work from becoming just another commodity. I am focusing on legacy and impact rather than mere transaction.
Coming In The Future
In the future I will be sharing, as I am sure you would love to hear more about:
What specific event or realization did my father share?
What art compelled me to start sharing My Narrative?
What was the message my newborn delivered?
Until the 28th of next month,
